Cerebellar hypoplasia in White Swiss Shepherds is a severe neurological disorder characterized by underdevelopment of the cerebellum. The cerebellum has a crucial role in coordinating movement, therefore dogs with this disorder often have problems controlling their movements. Typical symptoms include wobbly, uncoordinated movements, difficulty walking, wide-legged stance and head tremors. The disorder is congenital and becomes apparent as early as 2 weeks of age.
